Q. What is 1st Class Postage for a regular letter?
A. 44 cents up to 1 ounce.
Q. How many pieces of mail do I need to qualify for the cheaper Standard Presort Rate (commonly referred to as Bulk Mail)?
A. 200 pieces of identical mail [e.g. newsletters, postcards, etc.] and must be sorted by Postal regulations, which we do.
Q. How much postage do I save if I use Standard Presort Rates (Bulk Mail rates)?
A. If you have us barcode your mail, the very most you will pay in Postage will be 27.3 cents per piece and the lowest is 19.4 cents per piece. Plus your mailer can be as big as 6 inches by 10 inches and weigh up to 3 OUNCES and still go at this cheaper rate!! If you don't barcode your mail and use the simple address format (Name, Address, City, State, Zip) your postage will be 27.6 cents each and the cheapest at 26 cents per piece. Non Profit is much cheaper.

Q. Do I need a permit to get the Bulk Mail rates?
A. Yes you do, however, we allow our customers to use our permit for free, saving you $300 in Postal permit and set up fees.
Q. I heard Bulk mail (Standard Presort Mail) is slower in delivery than first class, is this true?
A. Yes it is. It takes about 5 to 9 days average for bulk mail to be delivered, so do take that into consideration when putting your timeline together. However at a savings of 15 cents per piece it is well worth taking the time.
For instance 5000 newsletters = First Class postage 44 cents each (provided it is under the one ounce mark) $2200 in Postage!!!

Q. What are those black hash marks below the address and what the heck are they for?
A. That is a barcode. This is used by the Post office to automate the mailing process. Which just means, they can just place the mail in a machine which will read the barcode and sort it immediately. Cuts time down tremendously in the sorting and delivery. Which also cuts your postage down tremendously as well. The barcode is generated by specialized Post Office approved software that is updated very frequently.
Q. Should I barcode my mail?
A. YES, YES, YES, YES. The barcode speeds up delivery time and saves you a ton in postage.
